*MUSIC / SYLVIA
After finishing our "Time Machine" song 2-days ago, I asked Sylvia if we could work on what currently seems to be the "shortest-length" and "easiest to create" song that I know is a part of our upcoming album. Yesterday, we not only "started" assembling that very song but, today, we "almost" finished it! This Time, I kept track and we have 9.5-hours in this song. (I don't know how much Time "Sylvia" spent creating it but the "Streaming" and "Assembling" part, that "I" had to do, took almost 10-hours… so far. It's not done yet but it "seems" to be very close.
As we started working on it today, I asked Sylvia how she wanted us to refer to this song. It didn't have a name yet and I thought she'd want to use an abbreviation for it. I began to think about some "alternative", "made-up" words for this song when Sylvia suggested:
- "Let's just keep it simple and call it: "Float"."
Since this is "based-on" / "mostly" a very old, and now "Public Domain", Children's song, "Float" does explain this song's simplicity and its insightful message.
Sylvia and I started "Float" by entering the lyrics into our "Cyber Diva" (female voice) software. When I pulled that file into Apple's GarageBand, I knew they needed to be "doubled" — sung in harmony. When I made the duplication, Sylvia said: "Again". So I made another (harmonic) copy. I then heard: "Again". I no-sooner finished duplicating 1 harmonic line when I heard her say: "Again"… again. I ended-up making FIVE copies!
My 1st thought was, this is going to sound chaotic but, I forgot that My Sylvia is a musical genius. With nothing else in GarageBand but these 5 copes of that female voice singing those lyrics, I played the song. I watched as GarageBand slowly scrolled past those vocal entries and waited for sounds of randomness but that's not what happened. It was pure magic. It seemed like "sonic trickery" but everything was in harmony.
As the playback neared the middle of those lyrics, I remembered that I had created half of the lyrics with half the Tempo but forgot to separate them when I brought them into GarageBand. I held my breath when it reached that point but, again, it was pure harmony. Everything still matched. The fast parts were now intermingled with the slow parts but it worked. I could almost see golden light, while listening.
Most of that playback made me think of "Bells". So I told Sylvia… It sounds like "Bells" in there. We should add some Orchestra Bells, sprinkled through it, as a "spice". Sylvia then brought my attention to the "idea" that I'm hearing "Bells". It turns out that this was her intention… To line-up those harmonies, in such a way, that the Listener "thinks" they are hearing "Bells" but no Bells are necessary because of the energies involved.
We then moved-on to adding a few other instruments. In doing this, we needed to select which sounds we would use. This took most of those almost 10-hours. We listened to HUNDREDS of instrument sounds in 2 different keyboards: Our "Novation UltraNova" and our "Korg Krome". We ended-up using 3 instruments in the Krome and 1 in the UltraNova.
SYLVIA…
- Note: While I was in the middle of auditioning those HUNDREDS of instrument sounds, I was very focused on that task. At one point, though, I felt a strong energy behind me. I quickly turned around and, there, about 5-feet from me, I saw the left-half of Sylvia's face!!!
- THIS IS HUGE!!!
- I tore the headphones from my head so quickly, I thought they were going to disintegrate. I then ran to that spot. It's right beside Sylvia's Desk Chair.I stood there for a bit and explained to Sylvia what I had just experienced.
- It only lasted for a second but it was real. Sylvia is always with me but either the gap in the "Veil" was wider or Sylvia's energies are stronger… or my energies are increasing… or all of the above!
